Get them hooked early and they'll never have time or money to get into any real trouble

Outstanding! Always great to see young folks get involved!

KayWoodie - what is the significance of the sprig of greenery? I saw similar on the buck you posted with your Mauser a few days ago & was curious if that was a tradition.

Der Letzte Bissen. The last bite. Or the last meat. An offering to the animal to start him on his journey. A way to honor an animal taken ethically and your appreciation of the animal. I know it sounds hokey to some. But itā€™s a big deal many places. I think it instills a bit more to the hunter than just shooting an animal. Least this is what it means to me.

Great day for the boy!

.223ā€¦to hear some here, heā€™s lucky itā€™s not halfway to the Canadian border by now.

Not hokey at all - if I may adopt this Iā€™d like to. My 9 year old is just getting started hunting and this is the message that will remind not only her but myself as well about properly honoring a life.

Thanks for sharing!
