The 457 Premium stock and barrel I found on GB landed yesterday. Threw them on my MTR receiver today. Pretty nice stock, oil-finished, and with the oogly lettering hidden pretty well in the checkering. Gonna need high rings to clear that rear sight though. They’re on the way and I’ll play with the irons in the meantime.
Haven’t decided if I’ll keep the MTR barrel and stock or not. Those cost a pretty penny from CZ, when they have them, which hasn’t been the case for quite some time. I had to replace the Area 419 rail with a lower one so I could see the rear sight. That rail is in the classifieds if anyone is interested.

Yup.
They don’t list other cartridges on their site, but I see the .17 HMR rifles for sale on GB.
I checked the irons in my basement, so when my rings come, I’ll tweek the sighting with them, then zero the scope. Probably use CCI Quiets or Quiet Auto with the irons. Got a bunch of those that need emptying out.
Checkering is very well done, nice and sharp, but no doubt by some machine. 7 pounds as pictured.

I have a 457 American and I replaced the factory barrel with a Lilja in 17 HM2. It is a well made rifle, but kind of heavy for a rimfire.

Yeah, I’m kinda over sitting at a bench trying to plunk bullets into clusters right now. More fun right now trying to ding plates, spin spinners, or even just shoot targets offhand. I also found myself without a nice .22 for toting around looking for rabbits or whatever.
Just more fun and games with guns……
Those Liljas are nice, but oh so spendy!

That’s a beauty Pappy!! I just picked up a Premium about a month ago. I really like the way it holds off-hand - I’ll be trying in in some local competitions and squirrels shortly so we’ll see how it shakes out??
