Hit the range/LGS today to shoot but it was a zoo. Forgot school is out... Powder on hand:

8# of H4350 at $365

5# of RL-15 at $219

4# of TiteGroup at $109

Appeared fair these days.

I recently visited a shop in a nearby town that had more powder in stock than I have seen in 3 years. Varget was plentiful at $55 per pound. H4350 was there at $55 also. Glad to see stock on the shelf. Just unwilling to pay those prices when I still have a decent supply.

Good to see inventory stay on the shelves. Unfortunately those prices are here to stay.

I saw h1000, h4350, varget, RL 15,19,25 H335and some others on a shelf yesterday at a small gun shop. I’m setting good so I didn’t buy any. It was good to see again.

A chain hardware/gun store near me has a lot of powder, and a good variety, even 8-pounders of H4350 and Varget. Didn’t look at prices as I was really looking for a couple they didn't have. They have much more than the LGS I usually frequent. Forgot to look at primers. The bullet shelf was small and thin, but that’s typical for this area, even going way back. Last time I saw a really good selection of bullets was nearly 20 years ago at the Gander Mountain in Winchester, before they were bought out. Bullets have become so specialized and there are so many types of construction, a small retailer would go nuts (and broke) trying to guess what would sell.

Except for some special things I want to try, I have enough and to spare acquired over several decades.

Guessing it was the junction? They’ve had more varget than I’ve seen a long time but like you, it’s steeper than I care to give. I’m just glad it’s not something I use regularly.

Ive been looking for Varget for the better part of a year. I finally found a couple pounds. Wasn't cheap, (52) but when you need it what more can you do.

After seeing almost nothing for a long time, I've been able to get enough H-4350, RL15 and Big Game for a lifetime.

I have IMR4064, IMR4350, and H4831sc on the way from Powder Valley. Reasonable prices by today's standards. Those, coupled with my current supply, should last me the rest of my hunting life.

Powder supply is coming back on line in my corner of N.C.
My local gun shop had 52 different powder container types for sale last week.
Some of the powders were 1# and also 8#of the same powder but they had a variety!
15 different Accurate powders, 30 different Hodgdon 1# plus the 8#s, Winchester and Alliant too.

Primers were $99 - 1000 large rifle mag and small rifle, 2 types of shotgun primers but I didn't check prices..

I took a picture with my phone and can text it if you want to post the pic.

Similar powder supply here in LA. At Cabelas, Gonzales, a good selection of Accurate powder, but not as much Hodgdon and others.

I bought the last 1,000 primers in the store, CCI 450’s I use in the .22 K-Hornet. They were $89, saw Powder Valley price of $99, but out of stock.

So maybe some stuff coming back. Primers are high, likely to stay that way. Powder running around $40 per pound.

In the last couple of weeks, I've been able to acquire

Varget
IMR 4064
IMR 4895
CFE 223
Hunter
CCI 200 LR primers

Also scored an unopened 8# jug of H4350 from a member on another forum for $120!!!

Now if I could just find some .257 80gr TTSXs and .284 120gr TTSXs ....

Great deal on the H-4350.

I paid $189 for 8#’s of H-4831 at a gun store and thought that was a good buy.

Just bought some leverevolution for $32.
Obviously not the norm for the times.
I was happy to say the least.

Check out Hammer Bullets. They’re mono’s but designed to be more expansive than Barnes. They sell direct and have stock ready to ship. Not cheap, but accurate and terminal performance is impressive.

Thanks, DF.
Yeah, I've thought about trying some Hammers, but just haven't done so, yet. I'm very happy with the velocities, accuracy and on game performance of my TTSX loads. I still have a few boxes, so im not sweating, just yet.

Hammers are as accurate as Barnes IME and I like their terminal performance. You can pick degrees of expansion depending on velocity and critters hunted. Don’t know any bullet maker who offers such options within a given caliber.

And they have bullets in stock ready to ship. CS is great. How often do you get a text from an owner?
