I'm curious about the new Uberti 1894 rifles, specifically the 1894 SRC.

Does anyone here own a Uberti 1894? I am most interested in the build quality, as in how it compares to a Miroku built 1894 or New Haven USRAC built rifle.

Fit, finish, machine work and accuracy.

I've not seen one in person, but it's not hard to order one.

Guess nobody here owns a Uberti?

I thought about one in 38-55, but ended up buying an old 94AE in 375 instead.

I currently have one Uberti, but it's an 1873, not an 1894. Fit and finish is very good and the trigger is quite nice as far as factory levers go... crisp and right at 4# break. The sights on it were kind of crappy, though. I had to replace them to get it to shoot anywhere near the level of accuracy I was looking for.

I don’t have a 94 Uberti but I have an 86. The fit and finish is superior to just about anything you’ll find out there today. I haven’t actually seen one of the new Ruger Marlins but they are more of a modern take anyway. For traditional wood and blue, I haven’t seen anything to beat a Uberti in a long time.

I forgot, I have a Uberti 66 too and it is very nice as well.

How accurately do those Uberti's shoot?

Not bad after replacing the crap factory sights. The rear notch on the factory sight was like looking down the Grand Canyon.

That's not a bad group for a 45 colt carbine. What factory sight did you have on your rifle? A carbine sight or a buckhorn?

I've been contemplating an 1894 SRC in 38-55. The 1873 carbine in 44mag and 357 also interest me as well.

Not a buckhorn... almost reminded me of like a cross between a patridge an express rear. I just couldn't keep my windage consistent with it at all. The front blade was pretty fat, too.

It has a Marbles flat top sporting rear and 3/32 bead front on it now.

Those Uberti dovetails are TIGHT, too. Took me a ton of file work to fit those sights compared to any others I've done, and I've replaced quite a few sets of sights over the years.

Uberti dovetails are metric, not inch, so they will almost always require some work to make American-made sights fit. Rossi/Taurus Winchester clones have the same issues.

Yeah, I knew as soon as I put the sights up to the edge of the dovetail they wouldn't even start in that I was in for a fun time 🤣

Marble's sights seem to take a bit more fitment in general vs Williams, but that just turned into an event. It shoots well though, so it was worth it. I struggled to get 3-4" groups at 50yds with the original sights.

A buddy picked up a Uberti '94 Short Rifle. It's a good looking rifle, nice case colors and the receiver profile compares pretty well to a pre-64. Accuracy wise, it shot like a 94 - not spectacular but good enough.
