A pair of Kinco have worked well for me. Not sure if the lining is wool, but they are warm.

Don't know what you're using them for, but for warmth and dexterity, a Hunters Safety System muff, with a couple of Hothands, is better than any glove or mitt I've ever tried.

Army surplus online is a great source for what you’re looking for. Won’t find an all leather mitten but leather palms with canvas backs and wool liners abound.

Search for chopper mittens. Amazon, for example, has lots of them, lined and unlined.
'chopper' means heavy duty, usually leather, and made for rough use.

Choppers are awesome. Get simple elk hide with a couple pairs of wool liners.

^^. Here’s your answer.

I still have a pair of trigger finger mittens from my military days. I have seen them and the wool liners at gun shows in the NE.

Kinco choppers work great for me in any temps if I'm being active. They won't keep my hands warm if it's very cold and I'm sitting still, however.

Are you wearing *just* the choppers, or with the ragg wool inserts?

I know that this is not what you indicated you wanted. But these are the ultimate "three finger" mittens for cold weather use.

OR "three finger" mittens

I use to do a ice climbing and these were the only gloves that could keep my hands warm in that extreme situation.

The finger allows you to get your finger on the trigger without removing your gloves, but they still keep your hands warm all the time.

Yeah, those are decent, but still prefer the regular OR version.

Black Diamond Punisher for ice bashing.

Showa Temres 282 and 282-02 for wet and cold work.

Best waterfall cauliflower green ice. Like sticking ice tools into cork.

Haven't used them personally, but saw them recommended elsewhere and these have been on my list to try:

Grab a pair of unlined choppers and a set of wool liners from a genuine US company.

Some good suggestions here. Not sure how much you are moving, and using your hands with mittens, but here is what I did for sitting out at night or in really cold conditions killing critters. I bought a large unlined pair of leather mittens in which I put a pair of rag wool mittens. Then I bought a tanned beaver pelt, and had a leather man, make me a pair of mittens from this with the fur inside. These fur in mittens were then put in the affore mentioned leather and rag wool mittens. Did the same for my wife minus the ragwool insert, and we used muskrat on hers. Both are very warm and comfortable. Tough to beat real fur for warmth.

That's pretty deluxe!

When I first started climbing, had "overmitts" made from waterproof Cordura. Dry. Warm for no insulation as a glove system.

Shall never be without gloves...outside. EDC. Well, maybe not in a store.

...and additional LAYERS for conditions.

Think "glove system"...even for your vehicle.

The Windriver Mitts look good for the price. Clone of the OR.

Great suggestions!
Although I have and use Surplus trigger finger mitten
Handmade leather choppers with liners are best for extreme conditions
Years of working outside all winter long has taken its toll on my finger ability to withstand cold

Now that my much missed source for hand knit liners has passed I am forced to resort to store bought unless I decide to learn knitting myself -

One big advantage, not mentioned to mitten wearing over gloves:
