In a campfire context.... Constitutional rights in action? They can all three be charged with state jail felony charges of reckless endangerment and whatever else they can apply, the same as the driver. You start some felony indictments, I'll bet they will suddenly remember who was driving.

"self driving".  I remember some decades back a news story out of CA. Some Mid-east Muslim had just bought a new van with cruise control (and apparently a wet bar). He got out on the freeway, set the cruise control, and went in back "to make himself a drink". Predictable result.
