I just ran across a vanguard in 22-250. It’s got a two tone green/black synthetic stock and 24” light weight barrel. Thinking about getting it for a new truck gun. Anyone have any experience with them?
Thx. Ben

I'd think of the 24" V2 barrels as being more like a magnum sporter contour than a light weight, but that's just me. The barrels are cut with a 1-14" ROT, so your bullet weights/lengths will be limited. Too bad Weatherby doesn't just use a 1-8" ROT on both the 223 and 22-250.

I like the V2s and have them in 223 and 6.5 CM.

I've been a 22-250 shooter for a long time, 1-14 works just fine for predators and varmints. Need to hunt big game buy an appropriate rifle. I like Howa rifles and gave my grand daughter a Weatherby vanguard youth 223 for her first rifle. I did kill a coyote with it the day before I gave it to her.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

I have the same rifle. It was bought on here new unfired and planned to use it for the action. Just out of curiosity I put a scope on it and shot my 52 gr Berger load through it that I use in another 22-250. It shot that load around 1/2” so i made it a truck gun until I have to pull the barrel to build a rifle for my niece.

not the Vanguard in that caliber... but if I came across it before you did, it would have been GONE by the time you got there..

I think you have a great snag there...

I do have the 223 in that same rifle...that has a 1 in 9 twist instead....

I really like the Vanguard 2s....
