Has anyone tried these bullets offered by Midway in a rifle? I bought 100 to try in my 35Rem, but there doesn't appear to be any lube on them and they are not PC. Their website says they are lubed but I'm Leary. I'm looking to push them 1800+ FPS.

Product overview states that they use a special lube process that produces a clear, dry, barely noticeable lube on the bullets. I’ve never tried them, cast and lube my own.

Frankly I'd be a little leery too, at high(er) velocity. Probably would lube them myself if I used them. But, what the heck, there's one surefire way of finding out!

They lead, aren't the hardness advertised and mic on the small side.

Sample of one box. Mine had a hard blue wax applied in the grooves, but it certainly wasn't LBT Blue.

I think I'll try cleaning them with acetone and PC them. Thanks all.

Dave Corbin of Corbin bullet swaging fame has been selling a dry finish industrial lube, can't call it a wax, for years. From what he told me face to face, he said, 'you have been shooting this lube for years in .22 rimfire, it will do anything you want to do with cast bullets'. And so it proved, in a 30" .45-70 bbl.
The Cast Performance .38-55 bullets I bought while trying to decide on a custom mold exceeded my every expectation in quality and accuracy.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

I just loaded up some CP .430" 320 gr GC bullets with their 'invisible' lube in 445 Supermag to try in a 14" Contender. I've used CP bullets before, but with blue lube not the clear stuff. Guess I'll find out soon!

I had good success removing factory lube from some Missouri bullets I was given. First used very hot water which took most of the lube off. The lube floated to the top and was easily skimmed.
Then gently swirled them in regular paint thinner. Thinner got what remained, it showed a light blue tint when done.
Another wash in warm water, let them dry and was done. PCed them the next day with great success.

The paint thinner was less harsh and less expensive than acetone.

Prior to removing lube these bullets shot well but leaded my bore pretty bad. After trying a few different loads I decided they were just too small and gave up. Rather than melt them down thought I’d try removing lube. Two coats of PC and they shot well with no leading.
