I'm new at PC, but I like them a lot. Mostly cast for 38/357. Really like 148grWC with Bullseye as a light target load. 158SWC for a more potent application with other powders.
I have been reading about possible long term storage problems with a reaction with high NG powders. Namely Bullseye, Tightgroup and Power Pistol. Seems like after 30days these powders sticks to base of the bullets. The PC is softened enough that you can scrape it off with your fingernail. I am in the process of testing for myself, but will take some time. My question is; have any of you experienced this? Does it hamper the quality of the load?

Unless there is some form of chemical reaction between the pc and the powder….it shouldn’t soften! Powder coating on many various things in some pretty harsh environments holds up pretty well! I think that there is even a pc designed for continuous salt water exposure. memtb

His test also showed that none of the bullets coated with Hi Tek coating were affected by any of the powders that reacted to the regular powder coat.

cook them at the right temp and long enough and it is NOT an issue. People were not doing it right and ran into problems

I have some of my PC bullets in a film canister with Bullseye, and some with 231. My bullets were powder coated with "Smokes" pc, a vender at castboolits forum. Baked in a convection oven at a verified 400* for 20min. I'll check them in a month or so.

I've always heard there is a reaction so just to be on the safe side I always store my loaded PC'd rounds with the bullet up, simply store the box upside-down in the ammo cabinet.
