Winter wade fishing is available and some large speckled trout are caught occasionally. Lots of wadable areas around Isabel but you need to fish with a very slow, and I mean sloooooow, retrieve. Tackle shops will give you good info if you ask. Probably get you some decent waders at Academy Outdoors.

Look for mudflats that border deeper channels or oyster reefs if you can find them. They warm up faster with sunlight and the fish will gravitate there if the weather is cool.On open, clear water look for cloudy or streaky areas. If it's very cold, the fish will be in the deepest water they can find.Fish as slowly as you can stand it.

if we get a really cold spell hit for the marina at Port Mansfield, the deep water really attracts fish.
