I have a low five digit (G10XXX) model 70 classic action I would like to trade. The action came off a 270 Winchester. I am looking for a low digit (no seven digit need apply) model 70 classic WSM version in either a blued or SS. The action has had a Redneck trigger job done and breaks at 2.75#. Only issue would be a scuff on the bolt handle as shown. Currently not for sale. Pictures should answer any questions except "how does it shoot". Previously it did shoot very well.

Nice action, but a high 6 digit is all you can hope for. Most of the WSM's were 7 digit classics.. Good luck in your search..

Yep. G350,000 ish is about where the 300 wsm’s start so you have about 35,000 production before the integration back into the 7 digits.

Good luck. 👍

Nice gun. Very late 6 digit; probably last few months or so of production before they integrated back into the 7 digits.

I’m confused by the pictures…in some it looks like it’s blued, in others it looks stainless.

Which is it.?

The action he wishes to trade is blue.

I’m intrigued by this. G10xxx makes it the first thousand production of the classics. I’ve never seen one that early which wasn’t a supergrade; and magnum chambering at that.

Pretty cool.

Pretty cool.

It appears to be a matte finish, like what was on the Classic "SM" models. Too bad the barrel fell off...

BSA
You are correct, it is a blue action off of a classic “SM” model.
AKwolverine
You too are correct in that this is off a very early, possibly one of the first thousand produced.

Unicorns appear to be hard to find. I may need to change direction and just buy or trade for a WSM rifle.
