Picked this rifle up from Brown at DSC. Couldn’t be more happy. Built on a new Winchester Extreme Weather action. Custom #3 barrel at 22 inches (I want to say he uses Lija or Shilen). Bottom metal is Sunny Hill. We went back and forth with factory trigger and Ernie spring but settled on a MOA Timney. I have large hands so the trigger shoe wasn’t an issue. Stock is 22oz and rifle finished at 6lbs 13oz. This rifle was built as my forever go everywhere mountain rifle. Range report to follow.

I must say Mark has been an absolute pleasure to get to know and work with. Class act with decades of knowledge. I would not hesitate to spend the extra coin and have him build a custom rifle.

That sure is a good one. Congratulations. Having dealt with Mark myself I can echo your sentiment about him. He's definitely one of the good guys and like you I'd not hesitate to work with him again.

Enjoy the rifle.

That's a "beaut", how much does one cost these days? "6 pounds 13 oz's", that sounds great. Mine are 7 pounds even. Love the Brown PoundR stock. They don't make them much better, that I've seen. They mitigate recoil surprisingly well and are super lite. The reason I decide to use them on a 338wm and 300WBY. Mine are pre 64 H&H actions, so that may attribute to the 3 oz difference in weight. I guess if one was to build a lifetime rifle, that is the way I'd go as well. Price may be a little high, going through Brown, but if you don't know how to work on your rifles, it may be the way to go. YMMV..
