Anyone know of a good tool to use a Magnetospeed without strapping it to the barrel?
I'd think some sort of little stand to do so next to it. Probably easily built but spending $150 at Home Depot with 3-4 trips there to assemble vs simply buying something for 99.99 has little appeal to me. My googlefu apparently really sucks lately too - I'm sure I'm not the only guy thinking like that.
Thought I'd ask if this mousetrap exists. Yes - am aware of the item that allows you to hook onto a pic rail on a chassis - not going to work as I own zero chassis.

This has been discussed more than once here. I did this with mine, mounting it on a Caldwell front benchrest purchased at a local store for $50. Some others have rigged others stands.

Magnetospeed still sounds like it ought to have been a television sponsor of pro wrestling back in the 60s.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

No need to apologize!
The biggie is to use something heavy enough not to be affected by muzzle blast. Adjustments also help!

Wondering - could you rotate the wand 90 to the right - basically place this on its side next to the muzzle? The MS doesn't actually have to be UNDER the bullet, correct?
Could be next to it?
I've never owned one and have been thinking it's time. Don't really want to spring for Labradar.

You are correct that it doesn't need to be under the bullet. It can be in any position as long as it's close enough to the bullet's path for the magnetic fields to be interrupted.
