Allterra Arms. About $7,000 will get you a nice bolt action rifle.
Would be a great buy at half the cost.
Article in Jan 23 Rifle magazine.

I've read a couple of articles about these.

Its very nice and I'm sure it does everything they say but at that price....

That's a lot of money I could put towards hunting.

The cost doesn't other me in dollar terms. If I wanted one I could easily purchase what I want. The question is what is the actual value. There comes a point where the tariff doesn't justify it over what is widely or once widely available.

Value is somewhat subjective.

Is a new Ferrari worth it's cost? To some, yes.

Dad told me when I was young, an item is only worth what someone will actually pay you for it.

That is true mathematically but doesn't cover sentiment or satisfaction in ownership.

Some simply want the pinnacle item.

I think there are plenty of rifles that would check the same boxes for a good deal less.

But that's me.

I would like to have on of their stocks if they ever make another run of them.

Stock wise, Peak 44 may have outdone them though. The first to gear up for a left hand Tikka will get my money.

This one seems a bit larger overall than that Allterra stock? Wonder what this would be like though with carbon fill. It has Tikka noted on inlets.

I like the Game Scout stocks and son has a lefty ordered for his tikka at the moment. Lacking that negative stock slope on them though.

I just notices AG Composites now offers stocks for the Tikka T3/T3x. I sent a message inquiring about LH models of those stocks. I have a couple of them on 700 pattern rifles and really like them.

I don't need an option for another Tacti-Cool stock. How about a LH Echols Shrike? A LH Manners UC? A Left Hand Kimber Ascent style stock?

Thin, light, open wrist, smaller dimensions, 20-22 ounces?

AG Composites makes their Privateer in a LH config for the Tikka. The issue is you have to have a gun builder do it. They will sell it to your gun builder and he will finish the fit to your rifle.

Is that for all of their stocks? Or only for Tikka inlets ?

Only for the Tikka. I have a couple of their stocks for Rem 700's that came directly from AG.

Curious regarding the ergos of the Privateer compared to a Rem KS pattern stock? Specifically, width and depth of the wrist, and width of the fore end midway between recoil lug and tip? Thoughts?

Haven’t handled a KS stock in a long time and would not be able to give you any good information. I’m sure there are many here who can.

Handled the Privateer Friday-- not anywhere close to a Rem KS-- it is more similar to the Proof Lightweight Hunter stock-- sporter pattern, open wrist, no palm swell, no cheek piece, flat edges and sides that don't slim down as you get toward the front-- but it very comfortably fits a sendero contour CF barrel and weighs in around 22-24oz with a full size recoil pad.
