They’ve been getting rave reviews from just about everyone who has seen one. If you want to give them a try, Classic firearms is having a sale right now where just about all of them are priced less than $400.
I ordered a 9mm Commander style for $339.00. I’ve always wanted a 9mm 1911 and this just seemed to cheap not to try.

No, just the regular one. It costs less than I paid for a GI model Springfield Armory 1911 30 years ago. Lol

They have a chrome plated Commander that comes fitted with two mags and two barrels, one for 9mm and the other for .38 Super. I'm tempted. Wish it were nickel, though, instead of chrome.

This is the one that's 9 and .38. Yeah my son is eyeballing that one. That's a very cool pistol at that price. I shoot 9mm in my Super frequently, cheap practice. And if we're being honest, there's not a whole lot of difference between 9mm NATO and .38 Super.

Need to go by my LGS next time I’m in town and see if they can order me one.

I picked one up last week after reading a thread on here where everyone seemed really pleased with them. I ended up with the B9R model, a 9mm commander length with a front rail. I haven't shot it yet but it feels well built and the tolerances are tighter than my Sig 1911 MAX. The trigger is amazing. So far I'm really impressed. The only thing I could ding it on is no front strap checkering and I'm not a fan of the grips. If it shoots good there are easy fixes for both of those problems.

That’s the one I got except I skipped the rail. I’m going to use mine for carry and I wanted that thin and smooth frame and slide. I’ve been carrying a full sized Kimber Custom Carry a lot lately. I know there are lots more compact pistols these days but a 1911 is so thin I find it more comfortable than just about anything else.

A boy at work bought one this past week at a LGS and he brought it into work the other day. It seemed well put together, had a decent finish and a good trigger. His was a 10 mm. I couldn’t find fault with it for the money.

Yeah, I probably would have gotten the smooth frame too but this is what they had in stock. I was going to order one but found this one locally for $389 so no shipping or transfer fees. Mine will be nothing more than a range toy so it's really not important. Either is fine. If I was planning to carry it the grips would be about perfect.

been thinking about buying one of them myself I fondled one the other day and didn't seem too bad I was looking last night at it and I’m going to wait and get the new compact one that is coming out right about now. The Turkish pistols are about as good as anything out there right now. I don’t how they make them so good for so cheap. And with PSA turning out the Glock clones in their Dagger series for around $300, this is hand gun Nirvana. They’ve never been this cheap. You can get a PSA Dagger Glock 19 clone and ten magazines for $359.

It's tempting but,,,,,,, I don't want a safe full of Turkish pistols either . I already have a Canik TP9 SFX and now this Tisas. That's enough! (keep telling myself that )

I think we would all like to have a new pistol. God help me but I believe you're right. Kinda sorta looking at the SA Prodigy. Only had one DS 1911 and it went away a long time back. Its no Staccato but around half the cost.

I have had the Match version of that for a couple of months and it is a great shooter. Dead reliable and accurate. I did clean up the trigger though it wasn't terrible as it came.

I've been looking for one of those myself, but they don't seem to be available around here. I've got requests out for notifications from the usual suspect online shops, but so far, no joy. I've got enough stuff to play with, that would just about lock me down for good. Then again, I'm kinda wanting one of those Tisas Desperados, too. We'll see what crops up first...........

EAA is bringing in the Girsan line from Turkey. They have several 1911 and Beretta 92 looking pistols. I think they even have a Hi Power. The few reviews I've seen have been positive, but I haven't seen any high round count reviews either.

The Tisa's look nice and would likely make a fun and inexpensive plinking pistol. However, I won't be seriously interested in any of 'em until some noted 1911 mechanics give their blessing. Phil

Well, I went and shot it and I'm very happy with the results. It was accurate and reliable, it went 300 rounds without a hiccup so I figured I would address the 2 short comings I have with the pistol. IMO the grips would be ok for a IWB carry pistol. They aren't slippery but I like a lot more grip texture and the lack of front strap checkering is annoying. I put a pair of Hogue Chainlink grips on it. These are the most aggressive grips I've ever used. When you clamp down on them, they clamp back. I run these on both of my 1911's and really like them. The lack of front strap checkering was another problem. I wasn't going to spend what it would cost to have it checkered but really didn't want to use "skateboard tape" either. I found this front checkered panel from Wilson Combat and figured I would give it a try. The finished result is fantastic but it was a nightmare installing it. I was worried about it slipping so I put a little "welders" contact cement under it. This stuff stays flexible and will peel off if needed. What I DIDN'T realize is all that checkering is porous! I put the contact cement on and pressed it to the frame and a bunch cement oozed though the checkering and made a big mess. I was able to clean it up with some paint thinner and a soft wire brush and it all ended well. The only other thing I'll probably do to it is I'll have a spare Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight soon and will put it on this pistol along with blacking out the two white dots on the rear sight. I'm very happy with my purchase!

The value of the Tisas 1911 will go up as well. For now their cheap but that won't last forever. They also will rise with time just like mausers Mosin sks and all things have. $400 at this time is really a decent cost for something like an 1911 that works.

No denying it. That Colt is stunning. So is a Ferrarl, especially when you compare it to a Ford Mustang. Both have their merits.

This is the one that's 9 and .38. Yeah my son is eyeballing that one. That's a very cool pistol at that price. I shoot 9mm in my Super frequently, cheap practice. And if we're being honest, there's not a whole lot of difference between 9mm NATO and .38 Super. Never had a polished chrome gun. What it like vs polished nickel? Chrome ought to be a bit tougher when it comes to impacts/chips. Nickel is a bit more rust resistant. There's a color difference, the nickel is a warmer color and chrome looks a lot like polished stainless. Both are VERY tough finishes. This is not really the case, in the plating process nickel is plated on and chrome is plated on top of the nickel and is harder, yes it does change the color but to say "Nickel is a bit more rust resistant" is a contradiction in terms

Well, no one can call you a snob for owning one, that's for sure. Lol
Colt rules.... My pride and joy is a 1924 Colt, but fact is that the rampant horse isn’t worth the extra bucks. Yea, their value just goes up. Best resale value of any 1911. Naw the highest retail value of any 1911 doesn’t have a rampant Colt on on it. It’s called Singer. Do beieve some Remington Rands are more in demand than the rampant colt.

Collectables are a different story all together. I have several collectables in my total collection of 74 1911's. Colt Black Army is my favorite.
Gun Shows are almost as comical as boat ramps in the Spring.

Seen these in the LGS. Seem very nice for the price. Only 2 1911’s I have are a Turnbull, and a REM Rand restored at Turnbull… dont carry them often, may get a Tisas

The cool thing about the Tisas GI model is that it's done so well that it can actually scratch the itch to possess a WWII era 1911A1 without causing much of a dent in your wallet.

And that’s the point. Pre II Kimbers were actually very well done pistols with all the bells and whistles at the same price point as Colt 1991 GI. Don’t see many pre II’s go on the market. Early Taurus were so so but after awhile they were pretty well done for the money especially when compared to Colt price. The Tisas I have handled and shot were quite nice and functioned very well. Colts have had their issues over the years too. I would rather spend 4-500 bucks on a pistol I might have to dink with than a 900 dollar pistol I will probably have to dink with.
