I think most folks in the gas production field have seen this coming for at least the past ten years. All four of the major fields are about played out and a small find here and there has only prolonged the end by a little. Without a major change things are going to get cold and dark.

I've been hearing this for the last 40 years. I suppose sooner or later, it's going to be so.
Maybe it's now, maybe not. Cry "wolf" enough, and all that...

The four major gas fields were all about 2TCF in size . They all started being produced at about the same time and rate. They are all nearing end of life at the same time. For the past 50 years there was more gas available than the demand called for so gs was cheap. That time has passed. A few little field finds is not going to cover for falling production. A major find or gas off the slope is going to be needed and neither one could happen very quickly.

Many years ago I was stationed at Site summit. We could see the lights of the rigs out across Cook Inlet from the mountain pretty easy. That was almost 50 years ago. I always assumed there was continuing exploration but it appears I was wrong. Good luck after 2027. Good luck with rank choice voting. Stolen elections have consequences.

kwg There’s a couple of petitions going around to hopefully get rid of RCV. Of course the other side has commercials saying how easy it is, pretty much saying you are stupid if you don’t like it. No, we see through the BS, and I hope it goes the way of the do-do bird. As far as LNG exploration in Cook Inlet, I think it may take a different administration and then it maybe too little too late.
