Could this be the final nail in the coffin? I'm sure the Pebble Partnership will continue to throw $$ appealing it, but it might all be for not.

We can hope. Horrible plan to build the largest dam in the world on a 2500' sponge.

Not a great plan they had, but I detest seeing the government getting in people's way like this. EPA overreach is awful beyond belief.

I agree, but a foreign company coming in to do it because their bonding is far cheaper than a US company reeks. Draining two of the best trout and salmon rivers in BB is unacceptable, too.

But they have such a good record.

They will be back.

Hey, if the EPA gets overturned, does that mean a precedent to getting our game management, and the rest of the Statehood Act violations by the Feds back?

Sarcasm font here...

What the hell could possibly go wrong with an open pit mine, wait for it . . . (hint: Superfund environmental remediation)

Being foreign, if there was a crisis, they could walk away knowing the taxpayers would pay the cleanup.

Truth. If anybody wants to see a case study for this, look at Pegasus Gold and what they did in Montana at the Landusky/Zortman mine. Cyanide in the ground water from a failed heap leaching pad, an entirely insufficient reclamation bond, and they just kicked the dust off their boots and left the mess for somebody else to clean up.

Some might be offended by government overreach. I'm offended by the corporations raping the land for profit and leaving a mess for future generations.

Where I fall on the matter as well.

Hopefully this is the end for this one.
