Hello all!
I just purchased a Springfield model 56 bolt action 22 repeater which seems to be a "trainer" rifle. It has a threaded hole with a couple of milled slots at the rear of the receiver which I believe is to accomodate an aperture sight. Does anyone know where I might look for such a sight? Also, what can you tell me about my rifle. Any information is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Rick

Saw one with a Steven's 105 on it. Not sure if it came with that one or not.

I would suggest asking this on the Savage Collectors forum. Springfield was a brand used by Savage or Stevens (also owned by Savage).

I'd lurk over on rimfirecentral.com and see if anyone there has a source for the parts you're looking for. I know that there are several parts houses around that specialize in old rimfire rifles, but I don't have any specifics to share. I'm pretty sure there's still one in New Albany IN that carries all kinds of cannibalized parts off the oldsters. I wish I could help you more, but ask around on rimfirecentral, someone over there can probably help.

Same answer goes with your other post on the JCHiggins.
