It’s barely usable. In dire need of an update. There is no drop down within the subforums to search that forum exclusively, which would be handy. There is also no way to narrow the search criteria to where it will actually screen for what I’m looking for. For example, if I screen for Winchester M70, it will pull up every single post that uses either Winchester or 70 in the wording, so the resulting 90% of what gets pulled up is not a Winchester Model 70. I just tried to look for a Savage 99 in the classifieds. In 10 pages, only a few Savage 99’s came up. Yet dozens of Savage 110’s, 111’s, take off barrels, and boxes containing 99 bullets, or bags with 99 pieces of brass. The search function is very ineffective. Please fix it. It hasn’t had a refresh in WAY too long!

Yes you can limit your search to a particular forum by selecting it in the Forum(s) to search box. Have you opened the question mark icon by the Keyword Search Terms box for ways to refine your search results? That doesn't adress all your complaints but may help.

Yes I know you can select certain forums. But you still have to go into the search page and scroll through the many forums and select. On many other sites, on each sub forum, there is a drop down at the top of the page where you can actively search only the forum you are already in at the time. It’s handy.

And not being able to screen for all of your search words exclusively make the search function almost unusable. You cannot effectively search for a firearm make and model. It’s just too broad. All it needs is a button to select to search for ALL of your words. Again, most other sites have this feature.

I can’t be the only one to express this frustration.

Seems to me this hole forum needs and update.

Why not actually bring this site out of the dark ages and fix the problem?

As to updating and complaints, ask him for a refund?

I’ve suggested that site to become the default searchengine. I suspect there is something in the forum software mandating the current search engine.
