Hello all!
This may belong in the gunsmithing forum, and I may post it there later. My uncle, when I was about 6 years old, bought a JC Higgins plunger type 22 single shot rifle for $3 and gave it to me. It was my first rifle, and it is very accurate, at least it was when I had young eyes. That was over 55 years ago. Forward to today. I took it out and shot a few rounds through it. With the plunger back, in the cocked position, it is very touchy if the bolt is "wiggled" a bit and will fire. I'm sure the bolt parts are well worn as It was verry used when he gave it to me and I fired untold thousands of rounds through it. Is there anyone who repairs such rifles today? Or is there a source for bolt parts that someone here could suggest? I would like to shoot the old rifle some and also we just had our #8 grandchild born and I hope I'll have at least one shooter in the bunch.
Thanks for your help,
Rick

Thank you so much. I need to fiddle with it a bit to decide exactly what parts I need.
Thanks again,
Rick
