Looks like the carbide insert came out - what holds it in place normally?

That cannot be a Lee die.On the reloading sites in the US.Lee dies are perfect Lee never made anything defective.You had to be doing something wrong.

Press fit. If you can't get another die and can get the carbide ring off, try pressing it back in and the staking the die body to hold it. Good luck. Dave

I'll give gluing it in a try - nothing to lose.

Use a good epoxy and rough up the outside of the carbide insert a bit with a file or coarse sandpaper for a better bite.

I’d send Lee an email and see what they say. More than likely they will send you a new one.

I broke a Lee Universal Unbreakable decapper once. My fault. Told em' so. They sent me a new one no charge.

Some Lee stuff is occasionally out of spec or defective. Still I've had satisfactory service from their tools and staff.

Most of my dies are RCBS but, I have a carbide 4 die 9mm set, a carbide 4 die .45acp and a set of RGB 8mm Mauser dies. No problems so far. I've loaded about 800 rounds on the 9mm set so far. The .45 set has had about 400 loaded on it, and 8mm haven't been used a whole lot yet.

My 9mm Lee dies are about 20 years old. I would typically only shoot about 50rnds per month on average, so possibly 10,000 rounds or so total to date. Hard to say, I've been mainly using ready-rolled ammo these past few years but occasionally do batches for experimentation. I also bought a 9mm rifle a few years back and most recent use of the dies has been for that, although once again the ready rolled is mainstream for that one also.

I've got also Lee 357mag carbide dies of younger vintage but I no longer have a 357mag anything, so they sit there.

And I've got 2 sets of Lee rifle dies - I'll wait and see when they break.

Cleaned of oil, refitted with LockTite 243 (that's what I had on hand) and 4 small centre-punch stakes. Has held for 65 resizes so far. (Photo taken before decapping pin adjusted, of course.)

The die body appears to be quite soft BTW.

If that doesn't hold try Loctite 680.

I've never sent anything back to Lee before. Sent a couple in to RCBS.

The insert sits up in the die. You are not going to break it

LEE dies are disposable. Dispose of that one...and get another.
