I got my first .44 mag in 1975 and have had a bushel basket full of them with 3" to 7" barrels in single and double action persuasion. About 25 yeas ago I settled on a S&W Stainless Mountain Gun in .44 mag. and usually carry it in a Diamond D Guides Choice chest holster. I almost forget I'm packing it some times.

I usually run 280 or 300 grain hard casts in it. That's about all I want in a hand canon. I wish I had bought one in .45 Colt. But the .44 a better choice if one does not load their own.
