Episode today had a piece on Daniel Defense and their barrel making setup. I know they aren’t making benchrest barrels but it was neat seeing them making hammer forged barrels. I always heard hammer forging machines are a very expensive investment compared to broach and cut rifling machines. I have no experience with any DD products but they’ll be kept in mind in the future for parts searches. Remington and Ruger both have good reputations for their barrels so I’d keep my hopes up that I can get a decent one already setup for an AR.
