Water, snow, cross country?
I've tried all but the water, I'm clumsy.

Skied a ton as a kid. Say about 10-15 and then occasionally till I was 24. Snow. Skied the Midwest and Colorado including back country.

Be fun to do again but I also sorta like my knees in 1 piece.

Never... I could never afford a broken leg that would keep me from working..

I was an alpine ski racer, skied in 2 NCAA Championships, at Sunday River, ME, in 1976 and at Winter Park, CO, in 1977.

I was a very casual water skier.

Current ski passes are $150 to $200 a day. Recently Breck had 2 hour waits in the lift lines. That's a no for me.

Alpine and nordic (skate only). Try to get 20 alpine and 40 nordic days in during the winter. Will be retired next year, so even more!

Have 4 sets of skate skis (for different snow conditions and temps) and 4 sets of alpine skis plus 1 set of alpine touring skis. I am a self-professed powder hound and snow snob. If it isn't powder in the mountains, then nordic at sea level.

Seasons pass is $490 and day tickets are $65 for adults at local muni-owned hill.

Done it all, but love to downhill ski, my biggest winter activity for a lot of years. After deer season, one day of the weekend run hounds, the other day go skiing. Whiteface was my favorite mountain, usually had a season pass. Would also go to Vermont (Jay Peak or Killington) once a year, once a year to Tremblant up in Quebec and several day trips to the areas north of Ottawa. It's one thing I really miss since moving South.

When I was ~ 38 years old, I was suckered into chaperoning a bunch of kids on a church field trip - then was told we were taking them skiing.
"Uh, Harold - I've never skied before." ? Harold - "That's OK, neither have most of the kids - I'll have you all up in 45 minutes."
He did!
Harold was a preacher, a kid lover, and a decorated WWII veteran of the 10th Mountain Division. He was also my buddy!
I never got real good at it - but enjoyed skiing quite a bit.
Angel Fire, Red River, Taos, Sipapu, and Santa Fe.

Not since the 80's. Cross country.

I was Telemarking into the eighties.

I only ski for free. Alpine touring about 15 days a season now, skin up anywhere I want and ski down. Used to ski much more. Other interests now have me too occupied to motivate.

Did all three from the 70's up to the 90's.

Slalom waterskiing, and successfully skied the buoy course back in my prime when I was good.

Got a little too crazy back early 80's, when skiing behind a neighbors Berkley Avenger jetboat. I held a "thumbs up" direction (it means GO FASTER!). They all sensed what I was wanting to do, so we went down lake to where the water was like glass. Lew Mayes hit the throttle even more, and I was probably doing 40mph! I skied outside the boat wake, and you guessed it... I took my rear foot out of the binding, gently placed my barefoot on the water. And in about 0.3 seconds, I was able to kick my slalom ski off, place my other bare foot on the water. I actually skied barefoot, for only for about 25-30 yards, and caught my toes or something. I have no idea. All I remember is doing a faceplant on the water at 40mph, and getting the wind knocked out of me. Ouch...

Did a lot of cross country skiing on the frozen lake (same lake for summertime waterskiing), and a lot of snowmobiling too. Cross country skiing is fun, but can get tiresome real quick too.

I also loved downhill skiing too. Whiteface Mountain in the Adirondacks, Killington in Vermont, etc... I skied everything from blue squares to double black diamonds, but was always wary of tough mogul runs. I skied "Outer Limits" at Killington quite often, but always skied in the middle where it was a bit more groomed. But it was still steep A... F... One slip, one wipe out, and you literally slide all the way down to the bottom!

Snow skied a bunch in my youth and was pretty passionate about it. I've gone I think twice in the last 20 years, mostly due to no one to go with. I have a grandson showing interest and needs someone to take him, so maybe that'll change. Ex-wife was a very accomplished water skier so have dabbled there a bit.
