My wife and I buried our first daughter, I never wish that on a parent. I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s unimaginable to me. That picture reminds me of when I was about 9 years old. We lived in a small town with a volunteer fire department. Everyone knew everyone. There had just been a terrible house fire and several kids died. My dad’s friend who was on the fire dept. was over visiting and he was telling my dad about it. This guy was a big biker guy, 6’4” easily and a pretty bad guy. Us kids didn’t even speak if he was in the room. I watched the tears roll down his cheeks as he told my dad about carrying out the little 5 year old boy out of that house. My little brother was 5 and blonde as could be and Big John always doted on him. He kept repeating, “He looked just like Joey (my little brother).” I’ll never forget that sight as long as I live. Some things just stay with you.

It doesn’t matter what their ethnicity, skin color or religion is. It’s simply a father who’s lost a daughter. Any man with a daughter should hurt for that man. +1.

I'm continually thankful for four healthy kids.
I can't imagine what some of y'all have gone through and I hope I never find out.

As a father of a beautiful little girl, I have imagined the worst - can't help it. I'd do anything to protect her. My heart goes out to any parent who has lost a child.

Reminds me of when Muslims killed thousands of us on 9/11. Scenes were not pretty. If that's what you get out of that picture, you are in truth sadder than the picture. That picture will outlive us all. Your "If" is huge and maybe wise, because his post does not define the limits of the poster's experiences or reactions. We each measure our experiences individually, as well as the reminders from such moving scenes. The experiences of 9/11 were devastating for many people in many ways, and are rekindled by a variety of sights and scenes. The feelings from being in touch with a loved one at the moment of death, and especially at the death of a daughter, will outlive even that photo. The loss of someone in the 9/11 terror may have the same forever effect.

There is no feeling like touching your child for the last time knowing they will never touch you back. No words.

That scene is a tear jerker for me. Twas an act of God sad as it may be. No ragheads toppled that building.

Very sad picture that needs no caption.
Probably a scene carried out many times over.

I just read that the death count is now up to 20,000. That's hard to fathom. They've about given up on finding any more this late.
