Wabigoon, you are so correct, “they have authority, I have little” and soon to be less if we keep heading in our current direction. This is for both nations.

It is amazing what a little bit of authority does to certain individuals. I once worked in a national organization with training departments in every region. Most regions treated its new employees well during training but in one region the trainers were actual bullies. The course participants called the training boot camp. This isn’t all that long ago. This region had a drop out rate of 90%. It was ridiculous and all because the trainers were given a slight bit of authority over other employees.

So now I have to use my Win Model 70 in 30-06 or buy another 300 Wby that is built on a Rem 700 or Win 70 action. It's just dumb

Good morning Termin8r,

Agreed! I almost blew a casket when I heard Mark V's were on the list, after digging into it, I do not belive that the .300 was on the list, if memory serves it was the MARK V® SAFARI, but I could be wrong. Another moronic Liberal Government attempt in banning all rifles.

I have a .300 Weatherby Mark V, I customized mine and I bought it specifically for elk and for plains game if I ever make it to Africa.

You are the second person I have heard say it's your favorite Plains Game rifle. Which Mark V do you own? I own an Ultra Lightweight, that I modified. Great rifle now, shot like crap out of the box. I shoot Nosler Trophy Grade ABLRs in 190 gr.

We know that the OP doesn't mean all Canadians, just the ignorant America-phobic Liberals that dominate our media and pop culture, and unfortunately our federal government for the last few decades. You can spot these arseholes immediately - they'll always look down their noses and make some stupid comment how they think they're better, or that they're NOT American. They truly have an inferiority complex for some reason and always have to try to make themselves feel better by bashing Americans. They're childish and ignorant.

We know we're a great trading partnership. We know we have relatives on both sides of the border. We know we are about as similar as two countries' cultures could be. Look at our shared history and teamwork in so many areas.

I wish I could not send any money to Ottawa and not support these criminal parasites.

We spent a lot of time in our "youth" (a relative term) racing in Canada (Westwood, Calgary and even on Vancouver Island). We always enjoyed the Canadians and never had any issues crossing the border. The only time we had a problem was trying to come back into the US through Sandpoint, Idaho. We were delayed for hours since my formula car didn't have a title. I tried to explain that formula cars did not have titles as they were never on the street. The border guard was having none of it and kept patting his revolver as he walked around the car. We finally got a supervisor involved and got the issue resolved. As always we make a distinction between the people and the politicians.

On the border crossings generally we have had good experiences going both ways.

One time going down for a hunt in the US I had preregistered my blackpowder firearm -- at the crossing the fellow in Montana asked why I did this when I did not have to. I said I that I knew that but I just wanted to avoid any possible complications. He said good move as Homeland Security has no clue on blackpowder vs centre fire. He then asked what I was hunting and when I said bison he brought out pictures of one he got, asked where I was going, gave suggestions -- just a great discussion. Now fast forward a week and I am coming back. Get to the Canadian side and all is good --- then the border guard says we have a note that you need to go back over to the US side. Go back over and it was the same US Customs agent wanting to see pictures and ask how the hunt went. Good experience at a very low traffic site.

In all the years I have driven across the borders I only had one issue , that was at the Cornwall Ontario crossing in 1970.
No biggy, they just went through the car checking for stuff, then we were on our way. Had several friends turned back for various old infrations when flying to Vegas , everything from DUI's to being fingerprinted but never charged after being involved in illegal activities .

My experience is that the US border guards are worse than the canucks, and the Canadian DOT is worse than the US. And that is saying something.

I used to go up to Canada dozens of times a year for business and family reasons. The Pols killed that business with their Covidiocy, but it also clearly pointed out that I am a member of a small fringe minority with unacceptable views, and don’t feel welcome at all.

Interesting views. First, its the US Border Patrol-not "guards".

In 2017 my wife and I were at Glacier Park and we decided to try
Waterton-Prince of Wales hotel. We neglected to bring our
passports. But I did bring a Federal retired badge and ID-as an INS Agent along with an old RCMP
card from a friendly Mountie.
Mr. Blackthorn I think the Inspector's name was. He stated passport or not, he decided
who came into Canada - at the small crossing near Waterton. He then stated you folks come in and stay as long as
you want.
Don't forget it was the Princess Pats who lost their troops as well as ours in the outback Middle East.

At any rate-politicians are the problem across the board and border. I am still a combat VN veteran, retired LTC and
Federale. Thomas Paine and T. Jefferson along with Louis Riel valued their freedoms and watched their politicians...

Albert Johnson did shoot RCMP Constable Edgar Millen-near the Rat River in the 1930s ..but the Mounties did get him.

Thank you for your service 450Fuller,

That customs officer is correct, individual officers have the authority to make discretionary decisions.

I have only been stopped once from crossing the border at the airport customs when I worked for a corporation with its head office in Chicago. Told the agent I was going to a business meeting in Chicago, but he would not let me through and he said we don't like Canadians taking our jobs.

I never had a DUI or a criminal record, so there was absolutely no reason to stop me. Traveled for business many times after that but never said I was going on business ever again.

I find that border crossing agents at remote locations are very friendly, never had any issues with them.

I've never been to Canada, but I'll keep sending money up there for stuff. My delete and tune kit came from Canada, as did my truck. I also had a muzzle brake for a 18.5" long H&R 10ga that was made in Canada.

Hi Verylargeboots, if I was American, I would buy everything I could in Canada. Buying Canadian is brilliant, especially the same products sold on each side of our borders because you save a lot of $$$.

If I were an American I would buy everything I could in Canada, and pocket the exchange rate.

I thought the cost of living was a lot higher in Canada though. Is that due to taxes and not due to the cost of tangible goods?

Both and Everything!

Canadians get hammered by our Brain Dead government to pay for their "Socialist BS" Cost of living, taxes everything!

Let me give you a good example, a bottle of 1.75 liter Smirnoff Vodka where I live costs $64.00 CDN, the equivalent in the USA 60 oz. I believe the Last time I bought a bottle of the same in Key West I paid $28.00 USD.

I am thinking of placing an ad on this site to help our American friends save a lot of $$$.
