I just ran across this small company that appears to target niche markets. They are making a 150gr .318 monometal that would be the answer to hunting with "J" bore guns in States and on refuges where non-toxic bullets are mandated.

I ask everyone who shoots combo guns of any flavor to contact them and urge them to secure an American importer/retailer. Check out their site.

Tell me about mono-metal bullets in the thin barrels of a drilling. I have my 7x57R and a fair supply of Hornady copper bullets but haven't shot any do to the thinness of the barrel. Do these copper bullets cause any concern it these thin wall barrels?

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

I wouldn't shoot the Hornadys.

Here's a discussion about monos in combo guns.

I've never been willing to sacrifice an expensive combo gun to find out. wink

You might ask John Barsness about this issue. He's a far better authority than I am.
