Good stuff Tikkanut. I keep a couple of cans of Campbell's chicken gumbo in the pantry for sloppy joes. Gumbo soup, ketchup and a squirt of yellow mustard. Top with a slice of white American cheese. Yumm

I always thought manwich was pretty good....until I found a good recipe for making your own. So much better and easy too!

Lea & Perrin's Sloppy Joe's... For 1 1/2 lbs of meat, 1 cup onion (chopped).. 2 celery stalks (chopped).. 1/2 tspn Oregano... For the sauce, 1/2 cup ketchup.. 1/2 cup tomato sauce, 2 TBLspns Worchestershire sauce, 1 TBLspn red wine vinegar, 1 TBLspn packed dark brown sugar.. Mix and set aside... Heat 2 TBLspns of oil, Cook onions & celery over low heat, just until clear, add oregano and set aside covered... Brown ground meat over high heat, remove excess grease (if required)... Add the partially cooked onions & celery & the sauce, sprinkle with fresh ground Blk pepper... simmer 15 or 20 minutes... Multiply everything for larger batches... You will after you try it!... We tried this recipe tonight. It was a hit. The kids and I gorged on it!

One pound lean ground.........beef.....elk.....deer....moose....coyote
Brown......add one can chicken gumbo soup only/no water
add ketchup/BBQ sauce after browned/drained......your favorite bun
Fresh air fryer fries & cole slaw on the side It maybe needs a bit of brown sugar mixed in. Osky
