I've bought an Austrian O/U combo gun. The lower barrel is 8x57 R/360, which I understand went out of print around 1905. The gun has AKAH (Albert Kind Aus Hunting) grooves and dovetails, so is intended to take one of their mounts.
I'm curious what European scopes would be period correct for ~1900? I've made many searches without getting any answers. It's fairly easy to find references for scopes from the 20's & 30's, but not earlier.
Thanks!

You won't want a scope from back then if you ever look through one.

You won't want a scope from back then if you ever look through one. I've got a 6X Docter stuck back, for modern scopes, it's about as sleek as anything I've seen.

Check with Lee LeBas. He had some older German scopes.
