Anybody on here at the Southwest Nationals this year? F/TR, F/O, irons? If so, how did you do? Cat

Just got back from today's last two 1000 yard matches. Palma Rifle all 5 days. The weather was great this morning with some challenging but manageable winds. Wednesday's 600 yard matches were a good warmup, with some great scores shot. My best string was a 197-11x which wasn't even close to the top. The Thursday team Palma matches were cold and windy and I discovered I do not like prone shooting in the mid 30's with 15+ MPH winds. Added some pull weight to my trigger's 2nd stage that evening, to help with the cold, and had a good string going for Friday's Palma match until I crossfired at 900 yards. Was using 9 minutes of wind at the time. Saturday was more of the same wind, but at least it was in the 40's when we started. One of the windier Southwest Nationals I've attended, but I still think everyone had a good time.
Arizonan Justin Skaret won the LR sling division with some outstanding shooting. John Friguglietti won the Palma division. Arizonan Ben Lucchesi won 600 yard Sling using his Palma rifle. Six countries were represented in this years match.

That's cool Mike, I was hoping you would chime in! My condolances concerning your crossfire, it can happen to the best! I looked at some of the results today , you know it's a top notch shoot when the top three scores are within a point or two and decidred by Vbulls! Cat

It happens, naturally it was an X on the next target. Could have finished in the top 12 that day .
Funny thing is an inexperienced LR scorer initially called out that I crossfired the next morning at 1000. He was watching the trace and with enough windage on the gun it can appear you are shooting a different target. Just about had a cardiac event... slow pull came up a 10.

Here is a great photo taken Sunday morning, the last day of shooting. A shooter from the Air Force Team posted it on another site... You can see the first of three shooter shuttles approaching to ferry pullers to the pits. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/gallery/80/full/217019.jpg)

WOW! What a great layout! Our geographical layout is so messed up , we have to shoot from a tower on the 600 to 1,000 meter line at our little range! Cat
