Anyone have any pet loads they would like to share using 180 grain Nosler accubonds? Would prefer H4831 or H4350, but am open to any help/info. Thanks

MK V 300 Bee. This was the 180 TTSX but it shot the 180 Accubonds almost as well.

IMR 7828 has always been the old standby with the 300WBY. Especially for 180gr Noslers. That's where I'd start.

My Bee’s replaced my 338’s. I concentrated on 200 grain Partitions. With RE26 I shot multiple groups close to .65 MOA. Three give-shot groups in a row as I recall the largest was a hair larger than that. I went out and bought a second one - 700 Classics.

That would be a sledge hammer of a load. If you want to penetrate 3 garbage trucks, that would be the one to do it..

So far, no recovered bullets, so I'm not sure how they performed.

But my impression is that it will do.

I like 150’s in mine, but only hunt deer and pigs. TTSX

All of the loads listed seem to be fine. I have shot whitetails, mule deer, and elk with mine. When I was hunting Pa. and WVa. years ago, my pal was a real gun nut.
We were always trying different calibers, plus I had an older friend that was one of the original long range shooters in Pa. He liked the .300 Wea. At the time mentioned one of the better bullets for light game was the Seirra 165 gr. hpbt. We all shot it I used it a great deal on western game, but one shot always sticks in my mind. I was easing through an old apple orchard when a huge doe stood up from her bed. I shot her behind the shoulder and she just collapsed. I will say the bullet did not exit nor destroy much meet. It didn't exit. I believe the load sent that bullet at just over 3400 fps. Shot into the shoulders the was massive destruction. But it was a deadly killer on deer!!

Thanks for the info guys. Hate the thought of having to try and find powder i dont have. Got loads of 4350 and 4831 which is why i was looking there. Ill have to check around for some 7828

My Alamo Precision Maverick likes Nosler factory 200 grain Accubonds. .588 BC3090 fps. Killed a 30" moose and a B&C Woodland Caribou in New Foundland this year, no bullets recovered.

I'd give your H4350 and H4831 a try before you buy anything else. H4350 with 180's of a few varieties have worked well to the tune of 3100-3200 with 180's. Same for H4831. I'd load up a handful of both before trying to find something you might not need.

Have you tried H1000 in the 300WBY? Seems like that would be a good one to use as well.

Yup, I'd probably go that direction myself or RL23 just to keep stuff as stable as possible. I know I'll get the speed out of them and maintain consistencies for temps. I like H1000 alot myself. It's a killer in the Mashburn as well.

IMR 7828 with 180s and H1000 with 210 gr Bergers usually work very well.

I used MagPro, Norma MRP, and Ramshot Magnum before settling on RL26, which is now made from unobtainium. I shoot 168 TTSX over slightly less than a max load of RL 26 and Fed GM215M primers in Weatherby or Norma cases @ 3,280 fps if I recall correctly. Never a run-off or recovered bullet. If I exhaust my supply of 168 TTSX, I may switch to Barnes 175 LRX for a wee bit better BC.

I have been using Magnum in the 300 RUM with the 168 TTSX's as well. I am glad I tried it, accurate and excellent speed with that rifle and Magnum seems very available.

H4831 was the go to powder for years. I4350 works very well also. I prefer it with 150,165 and 180s. I would shoot that during this shortage. I have shot a lot of bucks in Pa. with my old 300 Win. I often shot 150s or 165s because the longest shot I would get was 500, but up to that point there was no dialing just shoot. At 500 hold over was required. Enjoy great caliber.

Mule Deer also reported that RS Magnum is pretty temperature stable although it is not advertised as such. I have most of a pound of Magnum but saw some stock at LGS, so I might pick up an extra pound just in case…

I bet that Sierra killed quick.

Used them from a 20" 308, often saw a cloud of hair and mist from the offside.
Huge holes, quick kills, even getting close to a shoulder meant meat loss.


After around 8 deer, I went back to BTs.

It works excellent in my 6.5 PRC as well. It's one of the powders I never paid attention too until others started getting harder to get.

I use RL-26 and 180 grain Nosler Partitions in my .300 Wby.

84.5 gr Imr 7828 with 180's is your huckleberry.

Our family elk group has 5 300 Weatherbys in use this or next year. I started the trend several years ago with a cheap Vanguard & a Timney trigger that made it very accurate. I use 180 TTSX over 77 grains of IMR 4350 & Fed 215’s from the Barnes manual, cousin 77,7, son in law 75.9 all of those group under an inch & have killed elk past 400 yards. Other son in law has not liked the 4350 but RL 26 has worked well everyone shooting 180 grain TTSX at elk but several different combinations have worked ok on paper.

A 180 grain mono pushing 3200 FPS is a very effective way to provide lots of delicious elk burgers.

my dad always used 200 partitions and later went to 180tsx. rl22 and 7828 for powders. he killed lots of stuff from coyotes to eland. great round.

Re26 is what I load mine with.
