Speaking of which....I talked with Tony at the Swift booth and he indicates that a .475 A-Frame for the Linebaugh is on the to-do list.

Not sure on timing, but he says they do want to get to it. Struggling to keep up with current demand though, mainly due to labor.

I plinked with 350gr Hornadys and killed 4 brown bears on our property with 500 Hornady's. 3 one shot kills and the last one I was shooting at a dark shape in between our Karelians with reflective collars at midnite and gave him a triple tap at about 25' away.

Well there's some impressive real world performance. Thanks for posting your results. Four brown bears!

I only had the 500 S&W revolver for about 12 years and although I intended to hunt with it, it turned out to be just a range toy for me.

Typically loaded it with the 440 grain Cast Performance bullet and a stout charge of Accurate #9.

Been a year since ordering my rifle. Was visiting the BHA web site today and noticed they increased the price of these rifles by roughly $2,000. Guess inflation is taking its toll on everything.

When I saw your post, I thought it must have been a typo. I checked the website and you're absolutely right about the cost increase. I'm glad I ordered mine when I did 18 months ago. I received it around 4 months ago and am very pleased with the rifle.

As you ordered yours pre- price increase, did they stick with your original price when you made your deposit? Or did they say you must pay the increased price?

In my case they honored the original price. No complaints on my part at all.

That’s good to hear, as my BHA should be finished the end of July, and although I’m really looking forward to receiving it, I wouldn’t have paid the much higher price, when I ordered mine.

Ordered mine a little over 14 months ago. I have a detailed receipt that lists the rifle, options, deposit, and balance owed. I would be shocked if the builder did not honor the original agreement.

USAF: I was unable to locate reloading info on the Bighorn website. Could you please point me in the right direction? Thanks.

15 1/2 months after giving BHA a deposit they notified me the rifle is ready to be built. No surprises on the cost, they honored the original agreement. They did request final payment and told me the rifle should ship in approximately one month.

A Big Horn 89 is a beautiful firearm. It weighs 7# 10 oz. and cost $5000 with 11% excise tax. My Rossi 454 Casull weighs 5# 14 oz. and cost $931 MSRP. I have dragged it all over Alaska and Hudson Bay for bear protection in some horrible conditions. It looks beat up but it started out looking rough when it left Brazil. I had to drill and tap the receiver for a peep sight and slick up the action a bit but it is very reliable now.

I've had two on order since April of 2022. I've held a couple of them in various gun shops over the years. I cannot wait to get mine. I ordered one in 500 and one in 454. Been gearing up to load for them for some time.

I just got notification, mine is in production, and mailing in my final payment. No issues with them only charging the original price the contract was signed for. Should get it shortly.

Thanks USAF. Good source of how much velocity is gained by shooting handgun cartridges in rifle barrels.

Picked up my rifle 2 days ago. The fit and finish is superb. The wood upgrade was worth the money. I ordered the rifle with the scout scope rail and you can still use the factory skinner sights installed. Trigger is very crisp but a little heavy. My guess is it breaks around 6 to 6.5 pounds.
It is a very well built firearm.
