Lot of fun and shoot better than they should. Mine has a Sig Romeo 5 red dot. Pretty reliable if they're cleaned every 1k rounds or so. Breaks down for cleaning like a regular AR

Thanks! Last time I fiddled with anything of that style was in the early ‘70s and haven’t paid close attention to them since. Might be I will inherent one in a day or two.

I can’t say enough good things about the 15-22. I have been using one for five years, have around 40,000 rounds through it. Tuned the ejector and put in a Volquartsen extractor and it has been utterly reliable with HV or SV ammo. They will break a firing pin about every 15,000 rounds but Smith will send you a new one if you do.
I had an H&K 416 previously but like the 15-22 much better. The big advantage of the 15-22 over the 416 are similarities to the full size AR. All the controls are the same and most aftermarket stuff fits, especially triggers. With a 3.5# CMC drop in trigger, it is a pleasure to shoot.

Me too! I shoot the heck out of mine and really enjoy the rifle.

It has arrived. Shot very little, if any at all. Tight as a drum. We will see what we see. Needs a sight I reckon.

Laffin' here....perusing the world of sights/scope bases and rings etc....prices are nutz. Right off the chart. Never imagined I'd see scope bases priced in the 300/400 dollar range. Some of the dot sights were equally absurd. A longer barrel????? Almost cheaper to buy a new gun and be done. Laffin' here boss....

Lot of options out there. I just went with a Sig Romeo 5 on mine. Motion activated, don't have to worry about leaving it on. Dot goes small enough to make 100 yard steel targets easy . A little over $100 and they go on sale frequently

Does it mount on the rail found on the 15-22?

Yes it does. I also added Magpul MBUS which aren't really needed but I use them on my centerfire ARs as well

Three and a half pound TriggerTech in this guy:

… along with a MagPul stock (from a Ruger MPR), Hogue pistol grip, and even an Ultradyne Athena linear compensator (left over from another project) to direct noise forward.

It came with a factory installed S&W M&P-100 red dot sight. But, I find the VX 1-4x20 scope most useful.

My only beef is with the integral “buffer” tube, which limits choice of stocks. Would like to be able to install a more stable A1 stock without a lot of alteration.

I have gotten 1”/30mm scope mounts off of eBay for less than $30.00. No use spending big dollars for name brand mounts on a 22. I am using a Bushnell 1-4x AR 223 scope on my 15-22.
