I'd think most would call B.S. on 600lbs.

350lb mule deer bucks are not that uncommon in Alberta, although there'll be fewer with CWD affecting mature mule deer bucks the most.

The last real big mule deer buck I shot, I tried to move it ungutted with the calf sled on the snow. With my gimpy leg, I could barely move that sucker.

I have. Tastes fine if you have a clue, from ewes to 30"ers. Tastes like meat. But then again i don't drive around for hours with it in a pickup bed on the way to the processor either.

Never shot any over corn either.

Never seen one that came close to 600lbs.

MIght not be the writer's error. Many times I have seen willful mistakes on the part of editors. There is a book out there with me listed at 6'8" because I looked too tall compared to others in a photo.

But there are plenty of poorly informed writers

This was a big ram, maybe 340...just a guess. Second biggest body I have had my hands on.

Epitome of a mature ram. 11+ years old. Probably looked like a bison standing there when you smoked him. Well done. Curious who you hunted with?

Are you sure he said Aoudad and not oryx? The Oryx/gemsbok in NM are in the 600lb range, but the only way an aoudad is getting to 600lbs is by putting it in a 10’ pen and force feeding it.

Editors have done things that change info at times from what I hear and read, but it does say Aoudad on page 62 top of middle column.
