For a good 375 win 336?

Nessmuk, is it a model 375 instead of 336?



I saw one a couple years ago for $600. Asked the same question you did and after guys said, "hurry go back and buy it!!!!", I went back and it was gone!!! That one was far underpriced. The consensus back then was it was worth $1,000.00 all day long. I'd imagine it would be worth a little more now. I like to check gunbroker completed sales to see what they are really going for, but that was my experience.

I bought one a couple months ago for 800 and that was a good deal 1000 to 1500 today

I know it was a hard question, but was it a 336, or a marlin 375?

There seems to be a small but loyal following. Not a real gang-buster cartridge and reload only with components being scarce.
The Winchester guns came in AE and top eject only, some with safety and some without. The Winchester XTR had great finish.
I recommend checking out closed auction to see what selling prices were achieved.

I bought a Marlin Glenfield Cotter Co. #36 to have bored out to 375.

Saw a .375 Win. Caliber Bald Eagle Commemorative on the Gunrunner Auction site that looks like it could be a good dressed up shooter at a reasonable price for those interested.
It's been shot and it's not overly Fancy to take to the woods. IMO!

Not a Marlin, but I saw an XTR just like the one I have and the shop wanted $900 for it. Don't know if that is a good deal these days or not??

I have a Win Big Bore 94, bought it in '92 and 99.9% sure it's never been fired. Halfway decent grain, have dies, 100 new pieces of Winchester brass, and some ammo. And NO, I'm not selling any of the components if I don't sell the rifle. Hadn't really thought of selling it a whole lot, but other than a yearly wipe-down I haven't touched it and someone should enjoy it.

I’ve been shooting my Savage 99 375 Win for years and love it though for some reason I keep passing it up on most hunts. Hard gun to find these days, actually they never were really common, and bring ridiculous prices but the 99 in my opinion is an exceptional design and very strong. All of the 99’s I’ve owned balanced very well quick to point and as accurate or better than any lever action. But the beauty of this rifle is the rotary magazine that doesn’t limit you to flat point bullets. Being able to load spire or round soft points lets this cartridge step out beyond the other loads. . Hawk offers a number of good quality bullets for the 375 with several jacket thicknesses. I’ve got three Stevens 44 and 44 1/2 single shots in 38-55 so this case is very familiar to me.

I picked up a Marlin 336, 375 NEW & unfired,no box or papers,with a Marlin sling on it for $600.00 out the door,mabey 8 years ago.I have 4 or 5 boxes of ammo for it.I m saving for trading.

Not a 336 or a Winchester but I walked into a gun shop in Seymour, Indiana a couple of years ago to check to see if they had any powder.
There in the rack was a 99 in 375. It looked brand new.
IIRC it was $1400 dollars.
Only 375 I ever seen or laid hands on.

You can't touch a 375 Marlin for under 1500 nowadays..

Guess the marlin 375Win I picked up last year, was a good deal then. Came with scope, sling, dies, and 120 loaded cartridges, along with about 35 once fired. $500.

I bought one last spring, shoots really well with 200 grain Sierra’s. It didn’t look like it had been fired, certainly never had a scope mounted on it

hanco you’re lucky to find a 99-375. I think mine is one of the best handling rifles I own. I actually feel guilty I’ve never hunted it but I would suggest looking into Hawk bullets for some better flying bullets that I can assure you perform on game very well. I hunted Hawks in my 350 Rem and my 30-06’s both standard and Ackley Imp.

Since no one has commented on your post, I will. The last one I saw like this was 3 months ago. The shop wanted $900 for it, which seamed real reasonable. It came with loading dies, brass, bullets and a couple boxes of factory ammo.

Another one I saw was a year ago. It was near identical to mine. In like new condition for $800. Didn't come with reloading dies or anything else. I'd never sell mine, as it was my grandfathers favorite rifle and it's a reminder of him. But, if I had to put a price tag on something like it, I'd say $900 here and a starting price of $1,200.00 at Gunbroker..

I have a Winchester 375. I mostly just use it to shoot cast bullets. It’s in excellent shape. I have quite a bit of brass and a box of factory. Maybe I should sell it, but it isn’t hurting anything where it is and I don’t know what I’d want for it.
