Trying to put a scope on my old Anschutz 10D, need some taller rings to do so with my chosen scope, 42mm bell, and also to give enough clearance for loading and extracting over the breach.
I've so far found a few products that fit the bill, but if there are other suggestions out there, let me know. Requirements are obviously gloss (black,) and dovetail, and at least "tall" height. 1" tube.
Burris Airgun/Rimfire Riflescope 420073
or
Leupold RM Rimfire 54286
or
Weaver .22 Top Mount Rings (however, judging from available pictures online, finish quality is not that good. Looks more like a rough semi-gloss, than actual polished gloss.) 49192
I prefer the older version of the Leupold Rimfire Rings over the current version. Check eBay for them. Aside from the cockamamie embossed Leupold logo on the top ring and much smaller attachment screw heads, the new versions only fit flat top receivers (don’t know what rocket surgeon at Leupold though that was a good idea). If your rifle has a rounded receiver top between the dovetail cuts, the new versions just won’t work.
The new Weavers are sorta ugly, but they definitely work on a rounded top receiver.
I’m still searching for a nice looking set of the old 1” low or medium Leupold Rimfire Rings to fit the 3/8” dovetail grooves on my as-new Winchester Model 61. They ain’t easy to find. So, for now, I must simply be content with the Weavers:
Ordered BKL rings, I think they are the only option that will fit, though I wasnt' happy with the last product i ordered from them due to QC issues with the edges of the dovetail clamps...at least I have some better tools now to deal with it...
They also make 3/8" dovetail to weaver rail adapters, that may work for your needs. Always options out there.
Thanks for the sun optics link, but they dont have enough clearance for the roundtop. But those are the BKL i got. It looks like they should fit (theorteically) but would require the least amount of modifying to fit out of all the ones I've seen.
Dovetail to rail adapters wont work for the same reason most stand alone rings or bases wont. Except for maybe the BKL. But then the optic is going to be much higher than I want it to be even with low rings.

I have a set of the older 3/8" dovetail medium in gloss. They are very slightly used. Installed them on a CZ 22 mag. Traded the rifle off 2 days after I bought it. I can't find a mark on the rings, they are in the original package they came in if you are interested. I would trade them for a set of old or newer Leupold ringmounts (rimfire dovetail 13mm rings) in low. Can be either gloss or matte, new or used.

Yea, trying to file down the corner of the dovetail clamp with just a small needle file was a bit of a pain...
BUT, it fits, I can scope it, and next time I won't buy weird old gun...
There you go. You did just fine. I agree, using a file is a pain sometimes. That is usually the last part of the process, when I'm doing stuff like this. The first part is an angle grinder. This would have been extremely easy work for a flap wheel. When I say quick, I mean about 25 seconds of work. Then if you wanted to keep the area you ground nice and flat or sharp, use a file. It appears that you were not worried about that though, just fit. A flap wheel would have done the trick much easier and nicer actually.
