Not sure upgraded wood was really used but my uncle had a 1200 or 1300 when I was a kid.

Pretty sure it had a jeweled bolt and very nice wood.

Was there a deluxe or was XTR version of these the upgraded/deluxe model?

LGS by me has one of the nicest 1300 20ga I've seen in a very long time. Very nice walnut/blueing.

Seems odd to me that the gun has Winchokes but is plain barreled.

Would think by the time XTRs and screw in chokes were available that gun would have been a vent rib barreled gun.

Back in the late 70's, I owned a 1200 in 20 ga when I was a teenager. Beech or birch stock. Nothing fancy but a fine working gun. Sold it to get an old 12 ga double.

Sometime in the 90's I purchased a 1300 20 ga in walnut with cut checkering. Nice gun

I also had a used 1200 in 12ga fall into my hands that was from the early 70's with a walnut stock and a sawed off barrel.

I have had a youth model 1200/1300 for some years and never had a bit of trouble. The 1300 was a big improvement over the 1200 in my opinion

Like the 1300, had 3 or 4 over the years including a couple turkey models, being light they were nice to carry but you know you fired it with 3 inch turkey loads.

I have a 1300 with high gloss blueing, high gloss finish on the walnut and cut checkering. It has the jeweled bolt and has a ventilated rib. It has the Winchokes, which came with the gun, along with the wrench to tighten or loosen the chokes. I received this shotgun as a gift on Christmas morning in 1978, 79 or 80 from my parents. Probably in 78 if I had to guess. I've had it ever since and has been a fantastic shotgun, although I can't say I've used it a ton. Shot quite a few rounds of trap and a few birds with it. Just had it out for pheasant this past winter. It's the only shotgun I own. Very pretty and handy shotguns.

The 1300s are my two go to turkey guns. Owned a number of 1300 Black Shadow models and others manufactured in the 1990s - 2000s. Never an issue with any of the Winnies shooting slugs or 3" turkey loads.

They were way better than the 1400/1500 semi autos of the same era.

Back in the late 80s I won a 1300 Turkey gun in a raffle. Nice wood and bluing. Sold it like a dummy. Wasn’t a fan of aluminum guns back then, but I’ve come around somewhat.

1300s are known for being very slick-working.

Cut my teeth on a Win M12. Came across a M1200 and jumped on it.
It just wasn't a M12. Soooooo.....I sold it and now only buy M12's!

The first pump I bought was an 870 20 gauge Upland Special with a fixed IMP barrel. Sold it and still regret it today.

My second was a 1300 Black Shadow D/T for hunting deer and turkey. I admired the XTR Deluxe wood models but the black guns worked best for my purposes. Still looking for a green laminated wood NWTF turkey model but these seem few and far between up in these parts.

Conditions at my place are conducive for them to breed so I'm not surprised when another shows up.

I had a green laminated NWTF shotgun back in the early 90's. I forget what series it was, but it had the shorter barrel and rifle sights; kicked like a mule.

My wife and I were just getting our start in life, I needed some money and foolishly sold it. I still regret selling it until this day. If I can ever cross another one, it'll go into my safe.

My first firearm was a 1200 20ga. Got it for Christmas in 79. I killed pretty much everything legal in MO but a deer.

Yep sold it to get a 870. Miss it but the 870 was a huge upgrade.

I always admired the 1300 Turkey models of the 80's and 90's but at the time i could never afford one, if i run across an as new 1300 laminated turkey model today i would buy it.....Hb

I believe there was a XTR version of the 1300, or at least a version with upgraded wood. I had one for a while but it never got shot so I sent it down the road.

I cut my teeth on a 1300 Ranger and still have it. I shot it so much as a kid the action arm welds broke twice, but that was an easy fix. I should get it out more often.
