This isn't a collector's rifle, but I'm pondering my future and looking at rifles I can afford to sell, so trying to figure out what this one is worth.
It's a solid, do-it-all hunting rifle: 30-06 Model 70 Sporter bedded into Bansner stock. Old-style trigger. Barrel was 24" but is now 23.6” because it had a nick in the rifling just shy of the muzzle. I had my riflemaker shorten the barrel and lap it. It shoots just fine now. Round count after lapping is just under 1,200.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Okie John
If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

I'll take it! lol
Probably $750-900 in my neck of the woods. Little higher elsewhere. Market is tough here right now. And then there's the cheapskates!
Pics?

Would definitely command a higher price on 24hcf. More M70 loonies exposed here!

I saw your rifle in the classifieds last night. If I had to put a price on it here, it would be about $1,000.00. Nice rifle, but does have some rounds on it.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

In texas a bone stock classic goes for $1000 no scope. In a bansner you might be able to justify $1,200 if they know what they are looking at but the round count and shortened barrel might bring me back to 900 or 1000.

There's a stainless 300 WM classic at Burdett and Son in College station for $1045 right now if anybody really needs one.

I know I looked at it during lunch. I would have bought it if I hadn’t just renarreled my 7 mag to 300 wm because I couldn’t find one.
