What is the wage for a registered guide for sheep and goat these days?

Need Help understanding your question. A "registered Alaska Big Game Guide" can contract hunts. "OR" He/She can work as a (QUASI) employee of the Registered Guide "Who" signed the contract for the hunt. In which compacity are you inquiring..???

I am just curious as to what guides get paid these days. A guide working for an outfitter as an employee.

I was a guide 20-45 years ago and wondered how the wages increased over the years as the hunts get more expensive. That's the reason for the question.

In our area $150/day seems to be the average if you're not using your own vehicle, I've heard up to $350 in New Mexico.

That sounds pretty pathetic, I was getting $180.00/day + tips for fishing in the mid 90’s…

When I started guiding WY Antelope hunters in 1976 I got $1000/month. The next year I guided Mule deer hunters in the Greys River, WY I got $1500/month.

A four day 2x1 horseback mule deer hunt in 1977 cost $400/person.

In 2001 I got $200/day ($2000/10 days) guiding WY Bighorn sheep hunts that cost $4500-6500.

I'm curious now that Dall hunts are north of $30000 what a guide gets paid. With Stone sheep hunts going to $75000+ do guides make a good wage for the hunt?

Don't know the answer on sheep hunts, but in the late '90's I guided archery elk hunters for an outfitter friend. 6 days, $500 per week. After taxes, cost to drive to the trailhead and 16 hour days, I figured I was making $3 per hour. Didn't take long to realize my 'day job' was much better!!

I've been told $300 a day as a assistant guide for moose. $300 a day for a fishing guide that can run rivers outta Talkeetna is about average.

The cost of the (Ground Pounder) Boots in the field guide has near zero to do with what hunts sell for. It has a tiny impact on Hunt Sellers profit. The reason hunts cost so much is there a lot of hunters who will pay that price. If a Guide/Outfitter is booked three or four years in the future, he needs to jack his prices UP. The problem is too many hunters with MONEY. That is why hunt costs are high.

And an assistant guide license cost: $10.00 and was good for TWO YEARS.

This is correct. Could be more depending on specific situation, such as the outfitter is in a bind and needs to fill the guide slot.
Could be more for a long standing employee of a Master or Registered guide
