Anybody have one besides me? It was a gift from my grandfather.... little did he know that the "cheapo" Kmart 30-30 that he bought on a whim for the grandkids to use was going to be fairly rare. I think they only made them for a few years but maybe you guys know for sure? Been trying to find another for several years with no luck.

Anyways.... I love the thing.... 16.5" barrel, straight English stock, half magazine..... I put a Williams peep sight on it with a fiber optic front and if we are hunting brush or anything that will be up close it's just damn awesome to carry for the day.... I will put up some pics tomorrow if anyone cares to see it. Thanks.

The magazine cap, short magazine, short barrel Marlins are my favorite.
I modify the store brands to that style if need be.
I do like the heavy wood profile. It fits my hands and steadies the rifle.
I tend to go pistol grip.

I had two of them.

I would strip the faux walnut stain off.

They had a beautiful blonde wood grain to them.

I didn’t keep either….I have a presafety glenfield, and a model 93 that I like better.

My brother has one. It's poorly balanced for offhand shooting. Too light in the muzzle like the original walnut stocked, 18.5" barreled Remington M7.

Only made for KMart. Parts clean up idea. Birch stained. Some went out in checkered walnut. Pretty rare. Seen only one of those. Kinda like when the 336C Youths first came out, checkered, walnut, polished. Then changed name to Pronghorn, matte, birch.

I really like mine, even the wood looks good, for birch.
Handles great for me. I got it with the original camo sling.
Debating on what optic to put on it. Scope, red dot-reflex?
All Marlin straight stock 336’s are my favorite.

I have one. Great lightweight and handy carbine. Mine shoots better then my vintage gold trigger 336.
