Very cool. I have both those issues still. I remember obsessing over the 475 and talking to Ross a number of times about the merits of the 475. S.

Our local newspaper ran this tribute: John LinebaughI moved to Cody when I retired four years ago and had planned to meet him at one of his events. Sadly it’s something I thought I had more time to do. Lesson there for all of us, you never know.

Same here. After talking with him a couple of times on the phone…… The wife and I had made plans to go to his get together this summer! Regrettably I’ll not get to meet him, he seemed to be one of the good guys!
Thanks for sharing the article! The more I read about him…..the more I realize what an honor it would have been to spend a little time around him! memtb

Well I’ll be. I had not heard of Winchester WY so I just checked the map. If it’s between Worland and Thermopolis I’ve driven through it before. I’ll have to start paying more attention.

You’re not the first person from Wyoming that hadn’t heard of Winchester! But, just to be clear…..we don’t live in downtown Winchester, we’re out in the suburbs! 😂 memtb

I posted a tribute that the Cody Enterprise ran the other day, but yesterday his life story was on the front page. John LinebaughHis family didn’t allow guns in the house when he was a kid because of an accident his father had when he was young. What a great life.

Thank you for posting this. I remember when Ross let the cat out of the bag. And the race was on.
Curious if the reference in the first article about little John was about John Butera(sp?) who built a self made Indy Car and campaigned it.
John L was an example of the best US craftsmen. He learned the hard way and made a high quality product folks liked. It’s on my list to get back to Cody. Will pay tribute personally when I do.
I used to only shoot shotguns and rimfires, then I made the mistake of getting a subscription to handloader.......

That was why he built a place at South Fork. So he wouldn’t have to drive from Clark so often. His place was 2 miles from Montana

Good article. I believe the author is the woman that runs the Cody WY firearm museum. Forgotten Weapons has done a few interviews with her.
