According to a source at SDS/Tisas, they will be arriving sometime in May. Those of us who have expressed interest in the Desperado and Regulator (their names, not mine) should keep our eyes open for their release. Retailing for $800 or thereabouts, you get a 9mm with an accessory .38 Super barrel (dunno how many magazines come with them, though) You only have to plug in the Super barrel, and use the appropriate magazine, and bingo, there you go. Colt uses 14lb recoil springs for both chamberings, I presume Tisas will do the same. As long as you use factory ammo or it's equivalent in .38 Super, there should be no reason to use heavier springs.

I already have a Colt .38 Super and a Springfield Range Officer I've converted to Super, but I doubt I'll be able to resist one if I can find them before they get sold out. I like the Super a lot. It's funner than necessary, and with a good barrel, plenty accurate.

Granted, they are old-school steel, with a limited magazine capacity, but I don't give a rip about that. I like 'em, and that's that. I could do without the chrome plating, but it would be the only "shiny" pistol in the swarm, so I can deal with it.

Have you seen their Stingray?

I've got a serious urge.
Really serious.
Hope I don't find one to finger.

All you'd need would be some pearl stocks...and a pencil-thin moustache. Maybe some spats.

I've got a 9mm Stingray. It's not a target gun by any means, but it's been 100% reliable in the months I've owned it, and I've probably got 4-500 rounds thru it so far. I just got one of the Tank Commander models in 9mm, but it's not gotten me excited just yet. Frankly, it just doesn't shoot all that well. I think a new barrel bushing would cure that, though.

IF Tisas has just barrels available in their parts page, I might just buy a .38 Super barrel and plug it into the Stingray. I REALLY like the Stingray, it carries better than any other 1911 pistol I've ever owned.

Nope, no pearl at this house. I DO have a spare pair of Herrett D-45 skipline checkered walnut stocks on hand, though...................................................

I do like the Super as well. I have one and would not be offended to own another one or 3. I will take a look at the new offerings.

I DO try to be helpful when helping spend other people's money! Mentoring is just part of my service to society in general. grin
