I am waiting for spring here in Wyoming. I have been buying a lot of TTSX bullets to run in my rifles, they seemed to be available more than the Nosler stuff and I am liking the retained weight and less bloodshot meat idea. I am not starting to see the Hornady CX bullets show up on the shelves. Whats the story with them? Are they performing well and as good as other mono's like the Barnes?

I shoot the 165gr Hornady CX in one of my 30/06s and the 120gr Hornady CX in my 6.5 Creedmoor. I’ve killed deer with both rounds. Accuracy is good (sub-minute) and terminal performance was textbook with pass through on broadside shots. I have shot a lot of Barnes TTSX and LRX and would rate the terminal performance as very similar. Haven’t gotten around to running either load over a chronograph, so no velocity data.

My 338 WM loves the old factory Vor-Tx 225 TTSX. Bought all the factory ammo I could when Remington closed it's doors. Then I couldn't find any mono's due to covid. I stumbled on to Hammer bullets and they seem always to be in stock and are the most accurate bullet I've found for my 6.5's. Just match your twist to the weight you want. I cannot yet speak to their performance on game but there is a lot of info out there on the forums.
