With all the hoopla about SVB and the other banks teetering on one side of failure or the other, lots of talk about deposit insurance.
Which begs the question: can you buy deposit insurance on the private market? Other than a bespoke policy from someone like Lloyds?

If you paid someone to take your risk, wouldn’t they also expect to take your yield? That would seem to negate the concept of an investment. Otherwise, what would be in it for them?

I have owned "brokered" CD's bought thru Fidelity, the Bank went broke & the money was replaced before I KNEW the money was gone !!!!!
