I've heard the Fiocchi is good and also Federal Prairie Storm. Apex makes a TSS load too.

Why do I have to press 1, for English?

What Magnum Bob said "Go buy a box of Fiocchi "Golden Pheasant loads with nickel 5's". I have used these on several gobblers

Just order some TSS 16 gauge rounds from Salt Creek ammo for evaluation.

Got some from Foxtrot ammo (great round)., Only thing I've heard negative is the buffer spills out hadn't seen it on the rounds I brought.

Federal will custom load you some ($$$).

Well, I'll throw my 2 cents worth in here.

My preferred "turkey load" is just a good, high velocity (1200 fps or better) with a 1 ounce or better load of 7.5's, 8's or 9's.
You're only trying to stick a pellet in a turkey's brain or interrupt his CNS.
The more lead I can put downrange, the better I like it.
I'm an old tightwad. I refuse to pay for TSS or any of those other "magic, non-toxic, kill 'em at 75 yards" shot loads.
....but that's just me!

Don't call it being cheap, just knowing how to budget.
I agree on eastern turkeys, we've been killing for years before TSS,3 an3.5 shells.
But when I'm chasing Merriam and Rios the distance can make it an easy decision, after driving 12 hours, I'd rather spend a little more than misjudged the distance and wound the bird.

Never taken a Merriam's or Eastern, but I've taken quite a few (30+?) Rio's. All spring birds were taken with lead #8s.
Several fall birds with either .23 Hornet or .22 Mag.

I will join the chorus on this suggestion. I generally hunt turkeys with something more commonly thought of as A "turkey gun," but have collected some as targets of opportunity with this load out of my Merkel 1620's IC/Mod barrels at surprising distances and they die without any drama or excitement. IMO, this is a load where it all comes together for a 16 gauge.

I've killed many turkeys with nothing more than hi brass 1-1/8 or 1-1/4 oz #6 lead shot. #4 and #5 works fine too. But fewer pellets, and why I like #6.

As for loading, ballistics product sells the BP1680 Striker 16ga non-toxic wad, which supposedly holds up to 1-3/8 oz of lead shot.
