Next to my previous favorite. Yeah it's a little high but nowhere else in city carries it, YET!

Plus the Daughter works as a Manager at this great Privately Run Family grocery store so we like to throw part of our food money their way.

Been a Tillamook fan since their products showed up in NorCal in the 90's.

Never had or heard of Umpgua until Daughter gave me a heads up.

Tillamook must have been strong arming all the distributors here in the valley for many years.

I believe Winco carries it.
Friends go to Diamond lake (Oregon) every year during May. Their tradition is Umpqua every night for desert. They live in Ca. I told them it’s available locally, they only want it on their trip.

Here in s.w. Idaho, Umpqua is carried by Albertson's, Fred Meyer, and Winco. I do not know if Costco carries it as I'm not a member of Costco.

Good ice cream,

Any Umpqua ice cream is the cat's meow, beats Tillamook and Ben and Jerrys. My personal favorite is strawberry.

While we don't eat much ice cream we buy both Umpqua and Tillamook when up in Idaho. Both are great.

NorCal guys, remember Botts? We would drive there to buy it.

You live in Texas and Idaho, how does Umpqua and Tillamook compare to Blue Bell? And have you ever tried moolinium (spelling) BB?

Night and day. Blue Bell for the loss. No on the latter. There's some Tillamook "Oregon Strawberry" in the freezer now. Darn good.

Never tried the ice cream as I can't keep it in the house (I'll eat it all at once) but Umpqua oats is a main staple for breakfasts when I'm living out of a tent. Best oatmeal I've found and good nutrition numbers...

I've been known to put a scoop or two of ice cream on a steaming hot bowl of oats instead of butter and brown sugar.

The Tillamook cream cheese is also really good. More tangy than the silver boxed Philly stuff.

I don't know who makes the ice cream for Kroger, but they're all tasty. This one is crazy good.

Thanks for the nice close up.

I haven't bought a big container of ice cream in years. Someone else mentioned it, Greg I think. Too dangerous to have around, from a waistline standpoint that is. If we get any, it's in the pint containers.

I was wondering, just walking down the freezer aisle, if they had shortened the big containers. Your pic proves it, 1.5 qts now, no longer a half gallon. What a bummer.

robertham, how does that one compare to Thrifty Black (formerly Burgundy) Cherry, which has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid.

I still like Mudslide from Tillamook the best for grocery store ice cream. That stated, I'm not a huge fan of Tillamook but Umpqua had some weird ingredients the last time I checked.

Thriftys black cherry has always been a family favorite- and this is better. More creamy and the cherries are larger and more flavorful.
