I have had 2 RR rifles, several with BCM uppers and one with a DD barrel. They all shoot pretty well with good ammunition. I've never had any problems with my RR's but I think think BCM and DD make a better rifle in the sense that they use mil spec parts, the BCG's are properly staked etc.

I think any of them will do the job for a general purpose AR-15. BCM and DD are somewhat higher quality and probably will stand up to more hard use but of course they cost more. I guess it depends on whether you want to pay a bit more for a BCM or DD.

I'd just buy quality parts and a Criterion chrome-lined barrel

My BCM 11.5" pistol with an AimPoint H2 shoots better than a lot of rifles I've shot.

carried an RRA operator for 12 years as an issued patrol rifle. I can't remember any issues any of our guys had with them that were indicative of a poor firearm. I never had any issues at all with mine.

Old thread, but I think you hit the nail on the head. Like I said, not a whole lot of difference between most receivers to matter. Use good parts and be happy.

All the local and county Leo's around here run RRA rifles. I know many of them and they have been very happy with them. I have had 2 of their rifles. One was a carbine before all the m4 receiver cuts were a thing. They both ran 100%
