Looking back I've got to think this was one I should have kept. As best I recall, around 1966 I owned a 1911 45acp that as I recall was an aluminum frame, Colt Commander that had a kind of green tint to it. I can't recall anything wrong with it but several people said that frame might/will eventually crack. I eventually traded it off for another gun. Probably looked in the wrong places but can't find much info on this one.

What time frame did Colt make these? Were they considered good guns? Any ideas on current value?
