This book, written about 1500 years ago, details history surrounding the Byzantine emperor Justinian. It's a smallish book at 106 pages and includes many generally not included details about the man. Murders by the emperors were commom and crime was rampant. There were gangs competing for power--the 'Blues' and the'Greens' particularly. They would often kill for no reason. One story related is that of a man who was simply taking his wife for a ride in a boat when another boat with gang members came up to them and took the wife. The wife whispered to her husband that she would never dishonor him and jumped over the side of the boat to never be seen again. It sounds like people are people and they haven't changed.

For me it was a bit of a tedious book to read and I'll encourage you and be happy to let you all work your way through it.
