DANNYL: I use good old H 4895 in two of those 17 Remingtons and IMR 4320 in the other. Wow - that is wonderful getting an as new Remington 700 BDL in 17 Remington! Good for you. That is a "treasure"! Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
Yes it is, been wanting one and as we're all getting older 1 of my brothers is making plans on what to do with his rifles when the time comes and gave me this (my choice) for taking care of his others for the wife.
Congrats on a great rifle! 17 Remingtons are very fun little rifles. As others have said CFE223 and Rem 7 1/2’s are a great place to start. I shot 5-10 coyotes with 20vmax and never had good luck. They wouldn’t penetrate enough to kill cleanly. 25 vmax do way better but good luck finding any of them as I haven’t seen any for sale in a few years. Good luck with your rifle!
